DIRECT the County Administrator to contact the applicants for the Retirement Board who were interviewed in 1994 to determine their interest in being considered again for the Retirement Board. 2 . DIRECT the County Administrator to issue a press release indicating that the Board of Supervisors is seeking qualified applicants for the Retirement Board. 3 . AUTHORIZE the Internal Operations Committee to screen the applications down, do whatever interviewing the Committee believes is appropriate and make a recommendation to the Board by June 30, 1995 for an appointment to the seat on the Retirement Board, the term of which expires June 30, 1995,. BACKGROUND: The Retirement Board consists of nine individuals . Four are elected by various employee groups : three by current employees, one of whom must be from the employees in safety retirement: One member is elected by retirees . Four members are appointed ,by the Board of Supervisors on the recommendation of the Internal Operations Committee. The County Treasurer is an ex-officio member. The term of office of one of the Board's appointees expires June 30, 1995. We have a large pool of applications from a vacancy that was filled last year.
