SUBJECT: APPROVE AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE
OF STATE HIGHWAYS
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE Amendment No. 3 to Agreement for Maintenance of State
Highways between the State of California and Contra Costa
County.
II . REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The State of California, through its Department of
Transportation, has presented Amendment No. 3 to the existing
Agreement for Maintenance of State Highways executed on March
17 , 1981, which provides for the maintenance of various
traffic signals owned jointly by the State and the County.
The General Services Director has reviewed Amendment No. 3 and
finds that it will be of benefit both to the County and the
public.
III . The State of California reimburses the County for traffic
signal maintenance.

AMENDMENT NO. 3
COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA February 15, 1995
AMENDMENT to "AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE OF STATE HIGHWAYS" entered
into by and between the County of Contra Costa, hereinafter referred to as the "County", and
the Business and Transportation Agency of the State of California, acting by and through the
Department of Transportation, hereinafter called the "Department".
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, an Agreement for Maintenance of State Highways, as provided for in
Section 130 of the Streets & Highways Code, was executed by the County March 17, 1981
and by the Department March 31, 1981; and
WHEREAS, said Agreement by its terms provides that it may be modified or amended at
any time upon mutual consent of the parties; and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto now desire that said Agreement be amended,
NOW, THEREFORE, it is understood and agreed that said Agreement be and the same
is hereby amended in accordance with the attached pages marked "effective April 1, 1995"
and numbered 9 and 10, which attached pages shall be substituted for like numbered pages
in said Agreement, and shall cancel and supersede such like numbered pages, becoming a
part of said Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
This Amendment shall become effective this first day of April, 1995.
