SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE Relocation Assistance claims from Donald Carpenter dated June 15, 1994, for
replacement housing and moving expenses.
AUTHORIZE Principal Real Property Agent to sign said claims on behalf of the District.
AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to issue a check in the amount of $1,050.00 to Donald
Carpenter, 394 E. Cypress Road, #47, Oakley, CA., 94516, for reimbursement of moving expenses
and a check for $10,800.00 to Northwestern Title Company, 1777 Botelho Drive, Ste 130, Walnut
Creek, CA., Escrow No. 1200398, as a replacement housing payment, and forward both to the Real
Property Division for delivery.
II. Financiallmpact:
Payment of$11,850.00 from Contra Costa County Flood Control&Water Conservation District Zone
3B.

Ill. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The District acquired property located at 576 Beatrice Road, Pleasant Hill for a future flood control
facility. Donald Carpenter was the tenant at the time of the acquisition. He is relocating and is
entitled by law to the payments set forth in the aforesaid claims.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
Negative action may result in litigation, appeal and legal exposure and expense for the Flood Control
District.
