Nibbs, Jr. ) RESOLUTION NO. 94/341 of the Concord Weapons Station WHEREAS Captain Alan M. Nibbs, Jr. , U. S. Navy, on June 29, 1994, will turn over command of the U. S. Naval Weapons Station, Concord', to his successor, Captain Roger B. Lanning; and WHEREAS during his 22 months as the Weapon's Station's commanding officer, Captain Nibbs has been responsible for furthering the good relations between the Weapons Station and Contra Costa County's officials and civilian communities; and WHEREAS under the command of Captain Nibbs, the Station has made outstanding and numerous contributions to the community, particularly to our schools, youth programs, and in the area of emergency response preparedness; and WHEREAS the citizens of Contra Costa County, the Board of Supervisors, and County staff have enjoyed a mutually satisfying and beneficial association with the Naval Weapons Station and Captain Nibbs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Super- visors, County of Contra Costa, COMMENDS Captain Nibbs for the contributions the Naval Weapons Station has made to the citizens of this County during his tenure as Commanding Officer. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors EXTENDS its best wishes to Captain Nibbs and his family for a bright and happy future. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown. Nibbs, Commanding Officer of the U. S. Naval Weapons Stations, Concord, advised the Board this day that he has been reassigned to another Navy facility. He introduced Captain Roger B. Lanning who will replace him as the Commanding Officer of the Weapons Station on June 29, 1994. THIS IS A MATTER FOR RECORD PURPOSES ONLY NO BOARD ACTION TAKEN
