We have appeared and provided information at public hearings, met with County Community Development Department staff and written to your Board when necessary in furtherance of establishing this much needed campus. Data concerning the operation of the proposed campus has been provided for the EIR and subsequent traffic studies. We are aware that a settlement agreement to legal action pending against the Plan appears imminent, in which case the project is expected to move ahead. We are advised that a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which identifies key public infrastructure within the project, will be part of the agreement. We are concerned with the status of the college site at this time and wish to ensure that a future site remain part of the Specific Plan. It occurs to us that a mention of the site in the CIP would be an appropriate means of ensuring this goal. We request the board to exert the necessary effort to provide adequately for this important public facility. We will be comfortable with whatever procedures you find most appropriate.
