BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
On March 1, 1994, the Board of Supervisors approved the Final
Statement of Objectives and Projected Use of CDBG Funds for FY
1994/95, including the following allocations : $15, 000 to the City
of Pleasant Hill for the rehabilitation of housing owned and
occupied by very-low and low-income households; and $18, 000 to the
City of San Pablo to rehabilitate Public Housing units to provide
accessibility to disabled populations . These projects are
described more fully in the following.
o City of Pleasant Hill Housing Rehabilitation Project: $15,000
in CDBG funds will be used in combination with $175,000 in
City Redevelopment Agency funds to provide low-interest loans
to very-low and low-income owner-occupant households for
repairs and essential housing improvements . The City
estimates that this program will be successful in assisting 10
to 15 households .
o City of San Pablo Disability Access/Public Housing Project:
$18,000 in CDBG funds will be used in combination with $13,000
in City funds to rehabilitate three to five public housing
units in Kidd Manor and Vista Del Camino to provide access to
disabled households . Currently, there are no handicapped
accessible units in these public housing projects .
