TO: BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
FROM: Richard J. Martinez, Executive Director
DATE: May 3, 1994
SUBJECT: APPROVpING SUPERSEDING PART I AND NEW PART II OF
SECTION 8 HOUSING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS
CONTRACT NO. SF-468 AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) ORrRECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
II
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION':
Adopt Resolution No. 3706 approving superseding Part I and New Part II of the
Section 8 Housing Certificate Program Annual Contributions Contract No. SF-468, as
amended, and authorizing the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners to execute said
amendment.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: '!
None. The funds allocated under cost amendment projects No. CA39-EO11-902 and
CA39-EO11-903 were solely to increase the project account to provide adequate
funding for the remaining term of Part I of the Annual Contributions Contract.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Housing Authority has received notification from the U. S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development that cost amendment projects No. CA39-EO11-902 and
CA39-EO11-903 expired on March 31, 1994. The amendment to the Annual Contributions
Contract will delete these two cost amendments from the contract.
The 4197 Section 8 Rental Housing Certificates currently under contract to the
Housing Authority will not be affected by the expiration of these two cost amendments.
IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should the Board of Commissioners elect to not adopt Resolution No. 3706, the
Housing Authority would not be in compliance with HUD's request to execute the
amendment deleting these two cost amendments from its Annual Contributions Contract.
