RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee (Lorna Bastian) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24-533-6, effective April 1, 1994, to amend Novation Contract #24-533-5 with Bi-Bett Corporation (effective July 1, 1993 through June 30, 1994) , to increase the contract payment limit by $29, 620 from $42, 648 to a new total payment limit of $72,268. There is a payment limit increase for the six-month automatic contract extension of $16, 376, from $21, 324 to a new six-month automatic extension payment limit of $37,700. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Standard Agreement #93-73148 with the State Department of Mental Health (County Contract #29-441-12) , which finances the County's Conditional Release Program (CONREP) for mentally disordered offenders. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On January 4, 1994, the Board approved Contract #24-533-5 with Bi-Bett Corporation for alcohol recovery program services to CONREP clients. The actual utilization of services has been higher than expected due to an increased CONREP caseload. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-533-6 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services to CONREP clients through June 30, 1994, and during the six- month automatic extension period. Modification of Automatic Contract Extension Provisions. a. Increase in Automatic Extension Payment Limit. The six-month automatic contract extension payment limit set forth in Special Conditions Paragraph 3 . (Automatic Contract Extension) , subparagraph a. , is hereby increased by $16, 376, from $21, 324 to a new six-month automatic extension payment limit of $37,700. b. Amendment of Automatic Extension Payment Provisions. Special Conditions Paragraph 3 . (Automatic Contract Extension) , subparagraph b. is hereby modified to read as follows: "b.
