for Park Improvements, Pleasant Hill BART Station Area
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
AUTHORIZE . the Auditor-Controller to release up to $195, 000 to the
Contra Costa County Lighting and Landscaping District (LL-2) from the
Park Dedication Trust Fund to finance the development of a Pocket Park
at the Pleasant Hill BART Station.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
BACKGROUND/REASONS-FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
The Community Development Department has been.:. working "with the
property owners, employees, and residents in the greater Pleasant Hill
BART Station Area regarding the establishment of a Pocket Park.

The proposed park is to be located on property owned by the Bay
Area Rapid Transit District and leased to the County. A working
group has been formed and a landscape architect selected to
complete planning and design work. An initial transfer of $40, 000
to the Public Works Department Lighting and Landscaping District
will be made to cover the costs of County technical staff, surveys,
and landscape architect. Subsequent transfers up to the $195, 000
limit will be authorized by the Director of Community Development
or the Deputy Director - Redevelopment.
