HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04261994 - 1.147 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on Apr i 1 2 6 , 19 9 4 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Smith, Bishop, DeSaulnier, Torlakson and Powers NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None 94/234 SUBJECT: RESOLUTION ELECTING TO BE SUBJECT TO SECTION 22790 OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL CARE ACT FOR RETIRED MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGES. WHEREAS, Government Code Section 22790 provides for benefits of the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act (Act) to retired municipal and justice court judges; and WHEREAS, Section 22825(b) of the Act provides that a County shall.fix the amount of the employer's contribution; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County, hereinafter referred to as County; desires to obtain for its retired municipal and justice court judges the benefit of the Act and to accept the liabilities and obligations of an employer under the Act and Regulations; now therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the County elects; and it does hereby elect, to be subject to the provisions of the Act; and be it further RESOLVED, That the County's contribution for each retired judge or survivor shall be adjusted annually and shall be the amount necessary to pay the full. cost of his/her enrollment, including the enrollment of his/her first dependent, in a health benefits plan up to a maximum pursuant to Government Code 22825.1; and be it further RESOLVED, That County contributions for retired judges shall be in addition to those amounts contributed by the County for administrative fees and for contributions, if any, to the Contingency Reserve Fund; and be it further RESOLVED, That the executive body appoint and direct, and it does hereby appoint and direct, Jean Soares, Employee Benefits Supervisor, to file with the Board of Administration of the Public.Employees' Retirement System an original certified copy of this Resolution, and to perform on behalf of said County all functions required of it under the Act and Regulations of the Board of Administration; and be it further RESOLVED, That upon adoption this resolution supersedes Board Resolution 931743 approved on December 7, 1993.
