The amount of damage for this slide qualified the County for federal storm damage repair funds. The project has been determined to be in compliance with the General Plan and is exempt from CEQA because the proposed project will restore the structural integrity of the roadway, and will not involve an expansion of use beyond that previously existing nor result in the removal of any scenic resources per Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the slide damage is not repaired, the existing failure of roadway embankment may threaten further undermining and failure of pavement. By delaying the project, the County may lose the federal matching fund.
