SUBJECT: CAMINO TASSAJARA BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT - SAN RAMON AREA

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
A. APPROVE Right of Way Contract and ACCEPT Grant Deed dated March 9, 1994, from
Kristine M. Clausen.
B. AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute Right of Way Contract on behalf of the
County.
C. APPROVE payment for said property rights and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to
issue a check for $1,700 payable to Kristine M. Clausen, P.O. Box 400, Cantua Creek,
CA., 93608, to be forwarded to the Real Property Division for delivery.
D. DIRECT the Real Property Division to have the above-referenced Grant Deed recorded
in the Office of the County Recorder.
II. Financial Impact:
Payment totalling$1,700 which is 80%reimbursable from federal HBRR funds; remainder comes
from South County Area of Benefit Funds.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
This project was developed to replace an old and narrow bridge structure with inadequate sight
distances over Tassajara Creek on Camino Tassajara. The new single-span two-lane reinforced
concrete bridge will be relocated forty to sixty feet to the east of the existing bridge. Camino
Tassajara will be realigned to conform to the new alignment. These property rights are required
to meet project specifications.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The project will not have sufficient land rights to allow construction in accordance with the
approved plans and specifications.

parcel of land described in the deed to Kristine M. Clausen, Trustee of the Caroline Nielsen Trust
Under Declaration of Trust dated June 9, 1993, recorded June 30, 1993 in Volume 18705 at page
272, Official Records of said County, described as follows:
PARCEL 2: (FEE TAKE)
Commencing on the north line of PARCEL"A", Subdivision MS 80-85 filed May 14, 1987 in Book 127
.of Parcel Maps at page 32 at the east line of that area shown as "AREA DEDICATED TO CONTRA
COSTA COUNTY FOR ROAD PURPOSES" on said map (127 PM 32); thence along the north line
