SUBJECT: CAMINO TASSAJARA BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT - SAN RAMON AREA

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
A. APPROVE Right of Way Contract and ACCEPT Grant Deed dated March 28, 1994, from
Joseph A. Brown, Jr., and Judith A. Brown.
B. AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute Right of Way Contract on behalf of the
County.
C. APPROVE payment for said property rights and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to
issue a check for $14,300 payable to Chicago Title Insurance Company, 500 Ygnacio
Valley Road, Suite 200, Walnut Creek, Ca., 94596 Escrow No. 75510, to be forwarded to
the Real Property Division for delivery.
D. DIRECT the Real Property Division to have the above-referenced Grant Deed recorded
in the Office of the County Recorder.
II. Financial Impact:
Payment totalling $14,300 which is 80% reimbursable from federal HBRR funds; remainder
comes from South County Area of Benefit Funds.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
This project was developed to replace an old and narrow bridge structure with inadequate sight
distances over Tassajara Creek on Camino Tassajara. The new single-span two-lane reinforced
concrete bridge will be relocated forty to sixty feet to the east of the existing bridge. Camino
Tassajara will be realigned to conform to the new alignment. These property rights are required
to meet project specifications.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The project will not have sufficient land rig s to allow c nstr n i accordance with the
approved plans and specifications.

Commencing on the north line of said PARCEL "A" at the east line of that area shown as "AREA
