S , 3 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVIORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 94/173 Endorsing Bond Measure B by the Liberty Union High School District for a New High School WHEREAS, the Liberty Union High School District Board has placed a $25 million General Obligation Bond on the April 12, 1994,ballot to build a new high school in Oakley; Liberty Union High School's original planned maximum capacity of 850 students has already been exceeded by more than 1200 students; WHEREAS, enrollment projections indicate a sustained enrollment growth for the fore- seeable future; there are no state funds available for new school construction, lottery funds cannot be used for school construction, and developer fees only provide short-term aid; WHEREAS,science laboratories, computer labs, and other essential instructional spaces are already overcrowded and a new high school is desperately needed to provide quality education; WHE Liberty Union High School District will continue to pursue State funding to reduce the need for Measure B funds. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby endorses the action taken by the Liberty Union High School District Board of Trustees to place Measure B on the April 12, 1994,Special Election which will provide funds to construct Phase I of a new high school with a student enrollment capacity of 1600 students.
