IN RECOGNITION OF KATIE WELLS ] RESOLUTION NUMBER 94/132
AS MARTINEZ CHAFER OF COMMERCE]
YOUNG WOMEN OF THE YEAR ]
WHEREAS, Katie Wells, the daughter of proud parents Mel and Lynne
Wells, is an enthusiastic, energetic, intelligent, generous, active
and involved young member of the Martinez community; and
WHEREAS, Katie Wells, currently serving as Student Body President
at Alhambra High School, is continuing a long family tradition as
the third generation Wells family member to do so; and
WHEREAS, Katie Wells has consistently distinguished herself by
demonstrating outstanding leadership skills during her years at
Alhambra High School; and
WHEREAS, Katie Wells gracefully expresses and displays her energy
and fitness through dance, swimming and additional extracurricular
activities; and
WHEREAS, Katie Wells has. been a volunteer with the young people of
her community serving as a Youth Educator as a drug educator, camp
counselor and dance teacher; and
WHEREAS, Katie Wells, despite demanding course work, has maintained
an outstanding grade point average, impressively ranking in the top
15% of her class; and
WHEREAS, Katie Wells has unselfishly exhibited her exceptional
intelligence as a representative of Alhambra High School at Girl 's
State;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED .that we, the Board of Supervisors of
Contra Costa County, because of her diligence, generosity and
outstanding achievements, take great pleasure in recognizing and
congratulating
KATIE WELLS
AS MARTINEZ CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
YOUNG WOMAN OF THE YEAR FOR 1993.
