III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The project includes replacing existing 48" culverts crossing Danville Boulevard with a single 96"
pipe.
It is needed to increase the efficiency of the Rutherford Creek crossing which will minimize local
flooding of roadways and property in the project vicinity.
The project has been determined to be in compliance with the General Plan. A Negative
Declaration of environmental significance pertaining to this project was published January 14,
1994 with no protest, and the Board has considered the negative declaration together with all
comments received during the public review period.
IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Delay in approving the project will result in a delay of design and construction and may
jeopardize funding.
