Var County-France Dear Scott,
V'--Jean-Pierre Costamagna
President Club Mistral Shortly after the very interesting luncheon you arranged for
me,I left for France where I attended the Horti-Azur Inter-
Michel Sarda,President national Flower Show. I must say that it was a complete
Art Renaissance Foundation
success again this year. The California Cut Flower Commis-
sion (CCFC), representing some 600 growers and many of
those located in Contra Costa County, had a large exhibit
Board of Directors offered to them by the Var-French Riviera County.Dan Hall,
President of the CCFC, was able to attend with his wife and
Ron Swim,President to realize the potential market offered by Europe to Califor-
nia cut flowers and greens. Some 5 000 buyers from 25
Jean-Jacques Vitrac countries attended the Show and the CCFC President was
Vice-President&
International Advisor able to meet with many of them, including large delegations of
buyers from the Pacific Rim(Japan and China).
Yann Staraci
Vice-President& On November 9, 1993 our nonprofit,public interest corpora-
Advisor for France
tion was officially formed and we would like to have Contra
Carl Schetter Costa County represented asHonorary member of our or-
ganization. Please, let me know how we could do that. The
California Trade & Commerce Agency will also be repre-
sented, as several other trade Agencies and organizations,
both in California and in France.
I will also approach the Contra Costa Council to find some
kind of cooperation which would allow their members to
benefit from our contacts in France.

Attached, you will have a copy of the proposed California Trade
Mission which we plan for the Spring of 1994. Obviously, the cost
for the week is minimal(airfare only) since all the ground cost in
France will be paid for by the local Var-French Riviera government.
We will be working with the California Trade& Commerce Agency
on this very attractive mission which should allow California
business to develop strategic alliances with French companies.
Yann Staraci will be visiting again early.next year,in February, and
I will let you know the precise dates as soon as we have them, hoping
that we can arrange some contacts with your elected officials and with
some of the Contra Costa County business leaders.
I wish you and Ginger a very pleasant and happy Christmas Season,
and I will talk to you soon over the phone.
Yours sincerely,
Jean-Jacques Vitrac
