Milt Camhi will introduce Paul Katz, Chair of' Contra Costa Health Plan
Advisory Board, who will present the Advisory Board's Service Plus
Leadership Award to John Garamendi, Insurance Commissioner, for his
support of goals and ideals of Contra. Costa Health Plan. Commissioner
Garamendi will then make comments in accepting the award.

Service Plus Award
The Contra Costa Health Plan Advisory Board is presenting its annual
Service Plus Leadership Award to Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi
this year.-This special award is given to an individual or organization that has
shown outstanding support of the goals and ideals of Contra Costa Health
Plan, the federally qualified, County-sponsored HMO.
In the past, the Service Plus Award has gone to Henry Clarke of Local 1, the
Oakland Tribune, State Representative Bob Campbell, and both the nursing
and medical staff of Merrithew Memorial Hospital and Clinics.
The HMO Advisory Board is honoring Commissioner Garamendi's
commitment to affordable, comprehensive health care coverage for everyone
and his leadership in developing new strategies which coordinate all aspects
of health insurance including Workers' Compensation and auto insurance.
