MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: March 9, 1993 SUBJECT: Approval of Submittal of Application for.Phase II of the East Bay Regional Park District Measure "AA" Funds SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: AUTHORIZE the Director of Public Works or his designee to execute the Form "B" Application to apply Measure "AA" Bond funds for Phase I of the Clyde Park Improvement. II. Financial Impact: None III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The Clyde Park Improvement Project is comprised 5,893 in new reallocated Measure "AA" funds to augment existing County Service Area M-16 lyde funds to implement Phase I construction of Clyde Park. Other funding for the sect includes $35,000 in Park Dedication Trust Funds and $25,000 in pledged donations from TOSCO. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: Without approval from the Board, this project will not be able to proceed and the community will miss out on viable park opportunities. '4�1�©0 � ;PECIFIC REOUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION 1. Recommended Action: AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to arrange for payment of $84,343.09 to the Town of Danville for the County's share of costs for Phase I of Hap McGee Park. 11. Financial Impact: No County General Fund costs. All County costs are covered by Measure "AA" bond proceeds. Ill. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: Under the terms of the Joint Powers Agreement with the Town of Danville, the County has agreed to proceed with the development of Phase I of the Hap McGee Park with the town being the lead agent. The total contract for Phase I is approximately $650,000. Progress payments have resulted in the net County share of $84,343.09 to date. IV.
