Honorable Tom Torlakson, Chairman Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors 651 Pine Street Martinez , CA 94553 RE: Allocation of Fire District Management Costs Dear Chairman Torlakson: At our June 24 , 1993 meeting, the Moraga Fire Commission discussed the allocation of appropriate management costs among the five (5) functionally integrated merit system Fire Districts. We considered the report to your Board from the County Administrator on this subject dated June 8, as well as input from Chief Little and his staff. After. .reviewing this matter, we believe the factor to be utilized in allocating commonmanagement costs should be readily identified, easily verified and the best indicator of the management workload. In line with this rationale, the Moraga Fire Commission has taken the following position: We recommend that your Board allocate common Fire District management costs initially based on the fiscal year adopted budget amounts and that this allocation methodology be refined if deemed appropriate in subsequent fiscal years.
