FISCAL IMPACT: None. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: In accordance with Section 34-12.004 of the County Is Employer-Employee Relations Resolution 81/1165, Teamsters Local 315 filed a petition for formal recognition on February 19, 1993 consisting of the following job classifications: All full time firefighters employed by the County in its East Diablo Fire District. Proof of employee approval exceeds the minimum thirty percent (30%) requirement for qualifying the petition. By copy of this Board Order, other recognized employee organizations are advised that intervention in the unit determination process and/or to appear on a representational election ballot requires 30% of employee approval and must be submitted within twenty-one (21) calendar days from the date of this Board Order. Heyne, Employee Relations Manager SUBJECT: Notice of Request by Teamsters Local 315 for Formal Recognition on Behalf of Paid-On-Call Firefighters in the East Diablo Fire District In accordance with section 34-12.004 of the County Employer-Employee Relations Resolution, this constitutes notice that Teamsters Local 315,Martinez, California, the informally recognized bargaining agent for sixteen (16)paid-on-call firefighters in the East Diablo Fire Protection District, has petitioned for formal recognition as the majority,representative with the Employee Relations Officer with proof of employee approval by all 16 employees. I recommend that the Board acknowledge receipt of this petition which has been reviewed and is in accordance with provisions of the Employer-Employee Relations Resolution. Acknowledgement of receipt by the Board will be accompanied by public posting and notification to all other recognized employee organizations and will initiate a required 21 day period during which any other recognized employee organization may submit an intervening petition under conditions defined in the County Employer-Employee Relations Resolution.
