HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06151993 - 1.23 .a3 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Declaring ) June 19, 1993, as MICHAEL AND ) RESOLUTION NO. 93/325 r FERNE SCELSI DAY in Contra ) Costa County ) WHEREAS, on February 9, 1943, Michael and Ferne were married and on June 19, 1993, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary; and WHEREAS, Michael and Ferne moved to Concord in 1953 to raise their three children, Cathie, Jim, and Jerry; and their three children bore six grandchildren and from them came three great- grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Michael and Ferne are very family oriented and travel to Washington and South Dakota to maintain that closeness; and WHEREAS, Michael and Ferne have always been involved in the well-being of their community, especially through their involvement in establishing a neighborhood watch program; and WHEREAS, their hours of volunteering in many local political campaigns have helped shape the face of Contra Costa's local government; and WHEREAS, Michael and Ferne believe the success of their 50 years together is based on their commitment to each other to ride the ups and downs of life with patience and forgiveness; and WHEREAS, we wish Michael and Ferne continued happiness and extend our sincere congratulations on their 50th wedding anniversary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declares June 19, 1993, as MICHAEL AND FERNE SCELSI DAY in Contra Costa County. PASSED AND ADOPTED ON June 15, 1993, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
