HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05041993 - 1.61 TO THE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, 651 Pine St. , Martinez, CA 94553 FIRE STUDY COMMISSION Your recent actions have created the current emergency situation in the Moraga Fire Protection District, which has weakened our Paramedic and Fire Services Program, left us without on-site administration and without adequate protection in time of emergency. We, as residents of the M.F. District, insist on your implementation of the following points: 1. The Moraga Fire District Paramedic/Fire Fighter E.M.T. Program be kept intact. 2. The residents of the M.F.D. be guaranteed that: A. Our fire flow tax money will be used only within our M.F. District. B. We receive our fair share of all State and/or County augmentation and other funds. C. That we are not penalized in any way for these fire flow tax funds by any maneuver. 3. The Moraga Fire Commission remain as currently organized, in charge of the M.F.D. budget. 4. That Captain Rob Goodyear, an experienced Paramedic and Provisional Assistant Chief, be appointed as on-site Assistant Chief to administrate the M.F.D., as recommended by the Moraga Fire Commission. 5. That the boundary lines of he M.F.D. and the name "MORAGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT" remain as they are cu.rently designated, as necessary for: A. Protection of the Fire Flow Tax instrument, and B. Protection for the life-long contractual agreement for the Paramedic Program. 6. That a Moraga Citizens Watchdog Group meet regularly with the Board of Supervisor's Fire Services Committee, and that any action taken in regard to the M.F.D. Paramedic Program have their approval. This compromise request is done with recognition that our optimum needs would be met only by an on-site Chief. S.
