MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: May 4, 1993 SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Change Order No. 7 for the San Pablo Avenue/Willow Avenue Project in the Rodeo Area, Project No. 0662-6R4272-89 Specific Request(s)or Reoornmendation(s) &Background&Justification I. Recommended Action: APPROVE contract change order No. 7 in the approximate amount of $900.00 and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute it in order to compensate the contractor, Don Dowd Company for work performed. II. Financial Impact: The project contingency funds are sufficient to cover the change order costs. The source of funds is the Transportation System Management Program (100% State Funded). III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The cumulative total of contract change orders Nos. 1 through 7 exceeds $25,000.00, requiring Board APPROVAL. Roadway striping and curb painting were required. These items resulted in additional costs. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: The lack of APPROVAL would preclude payment for work required.
