MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: May 4, 1993 SUBJECT: Approve Agreement with Pacific Bell for Services at Contra Costa County-Byron Airport, Project AIP 3-06-0008-05 SPECIFIC REQUESr(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: APPROVE agreement and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute the agreement and arrange for payment of costs. II. Financial Impact: This agreement calls for a payment to Pacific Bell of$61,661, of which 90% will be funded by the Federal Aviation Administration. The local share will be paid for out of the Airport Enterprise Fund. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Backeround: Work under this agreement includes providing phone service to the new airport, and rerouting and undergrounding the existing service to customers south of the airport. Undergrounding is necessary because the existing service is aerial along Byron Hot Springs Road, a portion of which will be obliterated to make room for the airport runways.
