MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER DATE: May 4, 1993 SUBJECT: JOINT FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY. Project No.: 7505-6F8161 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: APPROVE the Joint Funding Agreement, dated October 1, 1992 with the United States Geological Survey (U.S.G.S.) for stream gaging for the period from October 1, 1992 to September 30, 1993 and AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer to sign and make payment for the Flood Control District's Share of the cost. II. Financiallmpact: The total cost of the stream gaging program for the period from October 1, 1992 to September 30, 1993 is $10,000. The Flood Control District's costs are $5,000; U.S.G.S.'s costs are $5,000. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: Since 1962,the U.S. Geological Survey and the Contra Costa County Flood Control District have been sharing the operation and maintenance costs of the stream gage on San Ramon Creek at San Ramon under the U.S.G.S.'s Cooperative Water Resources Investigation Program.
