Richard Martinez, Interim Acting Executive Director" "'" • Contra Costa County Housing Authority DATE: May 11, 1993 SUBJECT: County-Owned Property on Arthur Road SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS-(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS AUTHORIZE the termination of the Property Sales Agreement between the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa and Stewart-Kramer Corporation; AUTHORIZE the Interim Acting Executive Director or his designee to execute necessary documents to affect said termination; and AUTHORIZE the Interim Acting Executive Director or his designee to initiate a process to identify a successor developer with respect to a County-owned property on Arthur Road in the Vine Hill/Pacheco area. FISCAL IMPACT None at this time. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS On July 31, 1990, the Board of Commissioners accepted conveyance of a County-owned property on Arthur Road in the Vine Hill/Pacheco area. AND COUNTY ADMINISTRAT Dan Dayley nc: BY , m /sra9/6sgauth.bos �M The Board of Commissioners also authorized the execution of documents.providing for the contingent conveyance of said property to Stewart- Kramer Corporation for the development of a single family housing project composed of 41 units, of which 10% would be sold at affordable housing prices to lower income families. Stewart-Kramer Corporation has failed to perform under the terms of the Agreement, despite two Amendments extending their time to perform through October 31, 1992 . The above action will terminate any contingent interest of Stewart-Kramer and authorize the County to pursue other development opportunities.
