Costa County )
Professional women make a significant contribution to the risk and insurance industry. They are
increasingly effective locally and statewide in promoting public awareness of such important
issues as tort reform, automobile safety, and the problem of drinking and driving. These women
endeavor to reaffirm to the industry as a whole the highest professional standards.
Professional insurance women are working effectively on a national level as the National
Association of Insurance Women (International), which has reached a membership of more than
15,000. They have earned recognition for their outstanding accomplishments in the economically
vital insurance industry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declares May 16-22,
1993, as NATIONAL INSURANCE WOMEN'S WEEK in Contra Costa County and urges our
citizens to honor the women who are performing such important and diverse roles throughout
the risk and insurance industry.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON May 18, 1993, by a unanimous vote of the Board members
present.
