HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04061993 - 1.29 1.29 THE BOARD OR SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on April 6, 1993 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Smith, Bishop, McPeak, Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Municipal Court Collection Agent Positions The Board considered the recommendations of the Municipal Court Administrator to establish the class of Municipal Court Collection Agent at salary level $2, 393 - $2,909 and adding two positions; and cancelling two Deputy Clerk-Experienced level positions. Jim Hicks, AFSCME, spoke in support of allowing the Office of Revenue Collections to collect for the courts as opposed to establishing another collection service. He expressed concern that with the number of layoffs anticipated consideration is being given to creating a duplicate collection agency structure. Henry Clerk, Executive Director, Contra Costa Employees Association, Local 1, concurred with the position taken by Mr. Hicks. Judy Lyle, Muni Court Administration, spoke in support of establishing the positions.
