APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute letters of appreciation to the below listed 9 donors who contributed a total of $212,500 to the Social Service Department's Volunteer Service Program. 2. ACKNOWLEDGE the hundreds of other donors to the Volunteer Services Program who overall contributed $42,000 in 1992. 3. DIRECT the Social Service Department to continue its practice of sending letters of appreciation to donors at the time contribution is made. BACKGROUND One of Contra Costa County's greatest assets is volunteerism from its citizens and the resources they devoted toward a healthy, productive and humane society and it is fitting to acknowledge community support in conjunction with the recognition of volunteer service.
