THEREFORE IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the staff is DIRECTED to look at the feasibliity of a consolidated bid process, integration of General Assistance work crews, and Juvenile work crews where appropriate, to the extent that would reduce the cost to the taxpayer of those fire districts, and that every attempt be made to keep work locally whenever possible. Therefore, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the County Administrator is REQUESTED to review the feasibility of developing a procedure for a consolidated bid process for weed abatement work and contracting locally for these services. Nothing herein shall prevent the Board from reawarding the contract to another bidder in cases where the successful bidder establishes a mistake, refuses to sign the contract or fails to furnish required bonds or insurance (see Public Contract Code Sections 5100-5107).
