HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04271993 - 1.22 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 93/192 Proclaiming May as Drowning Prevention Month in Contra Costa County, WHEREAS,summer is,approaching and unfortunately is the time of increased numbers of drow- ing incidents, and WHEREAS,children under the age of five are especially vulnerable to drowning deaths and inju- ries associated with near drowning submersions; and WHEREAS,The Drowning Prevention Foundation, in cooperation with the Contra Costa Health Services will conduct a drowning prevention educational campaign in the spring and summer of 1993, the purpose of which is to inform the public that drowning can be prevented when people are aware of the . I . problems and know how to eliminate them; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby proclaims May as Drowning Prevention Month launching a much needed anti-drowning educatoin campaign which will focus attention on this preventable killer of children. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 27th Day of April, 1993. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an Order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors of the date aforesaid.
