Project No. 0662-6R4223-92, CP # 93 - 9. Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPROVE Project, and DETERMINE that the project is a California Environmental Quality Act Class 1 c Categorical Exemption, and DIRECT the Public Works Director to prepare contract plans and specifications for construction. DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk. DIRECT the Public Works Director to arrange for payment of the $25.00 handling fee to the County Clerk for filing of the Notice of Exemption. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The estimated project cost is $1,161,800, funded by Measure C (85%) and SB-300 (15%). III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The project includes placing an asphalt concrete overlay on Tara Hills Drive in the Pinole area and on Chesley Avenue and Fifth Street in the North Richmond area. It is needed to restore the structural integrity of the roadways. No removal of scenic resources will occur as a result of the activities. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Delay in approving the project will result in a delay of design and construction and may jeopardize funding.
