22 1. Claimants, CHARLES YOUNG, MICHAEL A. YOUNG, STEPHEN
23 YOUNG, CHARLES H. YOUNG, RICHARD A. YOUNG, whose addresses are
24 c/o Law Offices of Thomas J. Brandi, 44 Montgomery Street,
25 Suite 900, San Francisco, California 94104 claim damages from
26 the CITY OF WALNUT CREEK and THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA in the
27 amount of one million dollars ($1, 000, 000) . This claim is
28 based on the death of LUCILLE HELENE (JACKIE) YOUNG, wife of

1 CHARLES YOUNG and mother of MICHAEL A. YOUNG, STEPHEN YOUNG,
2 CHARLES H. YOUNG, RICHARD A. YOUNG.
3 2 . Jurisdiction over this claim would rest in Superior
4 Court.
5 3 . This claim is based on an incident that occurred on
6 September 18, 1992, at approximately 3 : 45 p.m. at or near the
7 intersection of Treat Boulevard and Carriage Drive, City of
8 Walnut Creek, County of Contra Costa, under the following
9 circumstances:
10 The vehicle driven by Lucille Young was driving was struck
11 by a 1979 Ford Ranger pick-up (California license 1R35411)
12 driven by Michael O'Donovan Ring, resulting in LUCILLE YOUNG's
13 death.
14 The accident was caused by the CITY OF WALNUT CREEK and
15 THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA's failure to warn of a dangerous
16 condition, including, but not limited to their failure to
17 provide adequate signs, signals, devices as well as their
18 failure to trim and/or maintain tree branches and other foliage
19 near the subject intersection.
20 4. Claimants seek damages for loss of care, comfort,
21 society and support of the deceased. Claimants also seek
22 damages for medical and burial expenses, . lost wages, and
23 property loss and/or damage.
24 5. All notices and communications concerning this claim
25 should be sent to Thomas J. Brandi at the above address.
