SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Change Order No. 6 for the San Pablo Avenue/Willow Ave Project
in the Rodeo area, Project No. 0662-6R4272-89
Specific Request(s)or Recommendation(s)&Background&Justification
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE contract change order No. 6 in the approximate amount of$4,100.00 and AUTHORIZE
the Public Works Director to execute it in order to compensate the contractor, Don Dowd
Company for work resulting from changes in design and field conditions.
II. Financial Impact:
The project contingency funds are sufficient to cover the change order costs. The source of
funds is the Transportation System Management Program (100% State Funded).
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The cumulative total of contract change order Nos. 1 through 6 exceeds $25,000.00, requiring
Board APPROVAL. "No Parking" signs have been added on Willow Avenue, and a drain pipe was
added to eliminate flooding. These added items resulted in additional costs.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The lack of APPROVAL would preclude payment for work required.
