A IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring the ) MARTINEZ-PACHECO LETTER CARRIERS) RESOLUTION NO: 93/103 on the Occasion of their second ) Annual Food Drive ) On March 30, 1993, the Martinez-Pacheco letter carriers will be collecting food door-to-door during their 2nd Annual Food Drive. The drive is in coordination with the Contra Costa Food Bank, and all food collected will be distributed directly to needy Contra Costa citizens . The letter carriers had an in-house food drive for four years at their post offices . However, last year when they found out that the Food Bank' s requests for assistance were down 40 percent and donations were down 13 percent, they volunteered to conduct a food drive without any extra cost to the Postal Service or its customers . At that time they collected 18,000 pounds of food! The Board of Supervisors commends the Martinez-Pacheco Letter Carriers and Postmaster Curtis Ross for their caring and compassion for the hungry in our County. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors the MARTINEZ-PACHECO LETTER CARRIERS on the occasion of their 2nd Annual Food Drive. PASSED and ADOPTED this sixteenth day of March, 1993, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of resolution entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the aforesaid date. Witness my hand and the seal of the Board of Supervisors affixed this 16th day of March, 1993 .
