The "Hall Closet, " a thrift shop operated by the Auxiliary, is located at 827 Las Juntas St. It has come to our attention that the office of your predecessor, Nancy Fanden, who was our friend and neighbor for many years, is now vacant. It is rumored that a baseball museum will soon occupy this space. May we ask you to reconsider . The Juvenile Hall Auxiliary is committed to raising money to provide assistance and support services to detained youth in Contra Costa County. Our thrift shop which is our chief money maker, each year brings irylbetween $25, 000 & $30, 000. We would realize even greater profits if given the opportunity to move from our cramped quarters to the roomy cottage next door. In these difficult times when predictions of dwindling county revenues pepper the pages of our newspapers, we ask you to consider our request . An expanded thrift shop translates into greater revenues which in turn allows us to better serve and support our neediest citizens . Yours sincerely, Per : Mary Stephenson Executive Secretary, Juvenile Hall Auxiliary, ( 510) 646-4818 cc : Phil Batchelor Nancy Fabden
