Re: Probation Advisory Committee on
Operations and Performance ("ACPOP")
Dear Tom:
Congratulations on your election and best wishes for your
term as Chair.
Bob Schroder was the board's member on ACPOP since its
inception two years ago, due to his interest in probation
matters. Now that he is retired, I would appreciate the
employment of another member of the board to be on our
committee. We meet approximately every other month at 4 : 00
p.m. in the courtroom of Judge Merrill, Department 7, Third
Floor in the Bray Building, for about one hour. The probation
officer renders a statement on the activities of the
department, and answers questions. Concerns of the department,
the bench, the county, and any other citizen relative to the
operations of the Probation Department, can be raised for
discussion. Meetings are closed, but all members are free to
discuss what goes on. There are approximately twelve members,
ranging from top to bottom in the department, plus the
Presiding Judge, the Juvenile Court Judge, a Juvenile Justice
Commission member, and Chris Adams.
If you have any questions, please call me.
The next meeting is February 14 , 1993 at 4:.00 p.m. in
Department 7.
Thank you for your help.
Sinc ely,
JO C. NNEY
