Winners in the two video categories, School and Producer will
receive $100. 00. Funding for the awards will. be provided by the
Contra Costa Television Grants program. The Grant Program is
designed to encourage the meaningful use of Community Television to
inform, train and serve the citizens of Contra Costa County. The
grants are funded through the Community Access Trust Fund with a
portion of the franchise fees received from each Cable Company
franchised by the County.
Each 30-second video will be shown on CCTV and will include
students in either the production or in an acting role. Involving
schools in the contest will increase understanding by students,
teachers, and parents of recycling andother waste reduction
issues. It will also encourage them to watch CCTV for its other
programming, including the televising of Board of Supervisor's
meetings.
