Bragdon Director of Community Development DATE: February 9, 1993 SUBJECT: Permanent Authorization of Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (HR 18 and HR 42) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS Support HR 18 and HR 42, legislation to permanently authorize the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, and authorize the Chair to sign letters to the County's legislative delegation. FISCAL IMPACT None. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS Contra Costa County has affirmatively addressed its low and moderate income housing responsibilities through a variety of techniques, including the utilization of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program. The permanent .reauthorization of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program would be a welcome addition to the arsenal of low and moderate income housing assistance techniques.
