HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06231992 - 1.9 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on June 23, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Torlakson and Schroder_ NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor McPeak TRAFFIC RESOLUTION NO. 3504 ABSTAIN: None Supervisorial District V SUBJECT: Speed Limits on BYRON HIGHWAY.(Road No. #9621) The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors RESOLVES THAT: On the basis of an engineering and traffic survey and recommendations thereon by the County Public Works Department's Traffic Engineering Division and pursuant to the County Ordinance Code Chapter 46-2 (Sec. 46-2.002 ff.), this Board hereby determines that the present speed limit(s) established on the below-described road, a street within the criteria of Vehicle Code Section 22358 is(are) more than reasonable and safe, and hereby determines and declares that the following speed limit(s) is(are) most appropriate, reasonable, and safe prima facie speed limit(s) there: Pursuant to Section 22358 of the California Vehicle Code, no vehicle shall travel in excess of 45 miles per hour on that portion of Byron Highway - J4 (#9621), Byron beginning at the intersection of State Highway 4 and extending southerly to a point 0.55 mile north of Camino Diablo, and, Thence no vehicle shall travel in excess of 35 miles per hour beginning at a point 0.55 mile north of Camino Diablo and extending southerly a distance of 1.05 miles. (Traffic Resolution 1543 pertaining to the existing 55 mph speed limit on the portion of Byron Highway just south of State Route 4 is hereby rescinded).
