TO: . BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
FROM: J. MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
DATE: JUNE 23, 1992
SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH ADVANCED DIGITAL MAPS TO PERFORM .
ADDITIONAL WORK FOR THE COUNTY COMPUTERIZED MAPPING SYSTEM
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute the First Amendment to the Agreement with
Advanced Digital Maps to perform additional digitizing and Assessor Parcel Number placements
for the County Computerized Mapping System and to increase the payment limit by $50,000.
II. Financial Impact:
The additional $50,000 will be funded from the Computerized Mapping Account which is from
sources outside of the General Fund.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
It is highly desirable that the County have an operational Computerized Mapping System and
produce a new County Basemap Book by October 1, 1992 in order to demonstrate to the cities
that the system will be available for their NPDES Program and other uses by that date.
Additional resources to existing staffing and equipment are required to achieve this goal.
$30,750 of the increased amount represents a negotiated charge for claimed additional work by
the contractor.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The CMS/GIS Project and the NPDES Program compliance 11 be delayed at least three months.
