MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: June 23, 1992 SUBJECT: Purchase Order with West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: AUTHORIZE County Purchasing Manager to enter into a Purchase Order contract with West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill. II. Financial Impact: The above action has no effect on County finances. The dump fees are paid from Road Funds and Flood Control District funds. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The requested contract is a blanket purchase order for the disposal of waste material collected by our maintenance crews. The purchase order is for $43,000 and exceeds the limit for which the Purchasing Manager can approve without Board approval. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: The proper disposal of waste material is necessary to protect the public health and the environment.
