HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06161992 - 1.24 ay IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring the ) CONTRA COSTA BAR ASSOCIATION for ) RESOLUTION NO. 92/ 406 Sponsoring "Food from the Bar" ) The Contra Costa Bar Association recently sponsored a first-time, 12-day food drive to benefit the Contra Cost Food Bank. The drive was set up as a competition between local law firms to see who could contribute the most food and .the most monetary donations. Gagen, McCoy, McMahon & Armstrong of Danville received the first place prize for a firm with over 40 employees; first place for the more than 20 employees category went to Kincaid, Guanunzio, Caudel & Hubert of . Walnut Creek; and for a firm with less than 20 employees, the first place prize - went to Peddler, Stover, Hesseltine & Walker of Lafayette. In total, 6,156 pounds of food and $7,599 were donated. We wish to extend our gratitude to the Bar Association for their efforts to battle the issue of hunger in our county. A special thank you goes to Gil Berkeley of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen who was chair of the . food drive. His hard work and dedication along with the participation from many of Contra Costa' s law firms made this an extremely successful event that will greatly benefit the hungry citizens of Contra Costa County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors the CONTRA COSTA BAR ASSOCIATION for sponsoring "Food from the Bar.
