HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05051992 - S.2 S-2 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Congratulating ) Kaye Yost ) Resolution No.: 9 2/2 8 2 Moraga Citizen of the Year, 1992 ) WHEREAS Kaye Yost has been named Moraga's fourteenth Citizen of the Year; and WHEREAS Kaye Yost, and her husband, Steven, moved to Moraga twenty years ago, and have raised their daughters, Wendy and Lori, in the quiet Town: and WHEREAS Kaye Yost got the ball rolling in community service with her key role in planning and constructing the play structure at Camino Pablo School; and WHEREAS Kaye Yost was elected in 1985 to the Moraga School District Board, where she served as mediator and community educator, reaching out to all elements of the Moraga community; and WHEREAS Kaye Yost dedicated countless hours to Girl Scouts, serving in leadership positions with the Orinda-Moraga Girl Scout Association, coordinating events, programs and publicity ; and WHEREAS Kaye Yost worked tirelessly with other Lamorinda volunteers to set up TOYS (The Organization for Youth Services), which sponsors numerous drug and alcohol awareness conferences for the community, staffs the Youth Employment Service for local teens, and is currently seeking a site and funding for a Lamorinda teen center; and WHEREAS Kaye Yost successfully advocated formation of the Town of Moraga's Youth Involvement Committee, whose members from the public and private intermediate and high schools advise the Town council on matters of interest to teens and plan events for Moraga young people. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California, hereby CONGRATULATES Kaye Yost on her selection as the Moraga's fourteenth Citizen of the Year, COMMENDS Kaye Yost for her quietly effective and unstinting efforts to improve the education, leadership, and sense of self-worth of the young people of Moraga, and EXTENDS to Kaye Yost its best wishes for much further civic accomplishment and enjoyment. PASSED and ADOPTED this fifth day of May, 1992, by unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered in the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
