HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05191992 - X.4 X , � THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 92/362 Proclaiming the Week of May 2430, 1992 as Pittsburg Historical Society Week in the Pittsburg Historical Society was formed by a small group of friends involved in raising funds for the City Museum in 1961,with the first meeting called by Mr.P.McIlhargey,Chamber of Commerce Manager, on October 18, 1961; WHEREAS,after several years,the Society secured the former recreatonal bulding that was located t the Standard Oil Pumping Station,whichwas moved to the City Park in October of 1965,and as served as the City Museum for the past 25 years; WHEREAS,over the years Society members have hosted several community events to raise funds and to encourage citizen involvement in preserving the city's history; WIBEREAS,the Society is presenting as a community event,"Memory Lane Dinner Dance"on Saturday May 30, to benefit the Museum Building Fund; WHEREAS, Guillermo Muniz, a prominent Pittsburg restaurant owner, is the Honorary Chairman of the Dinner Committee, and is donating the dinner; WFEEREAS,the 1992 Officers of the Pittsburg Historical Society are: Mary Vigil,President; Grace Boyd, Vice-President;Marti Aiello,Recording Secretary;Josephine Seeno,Treasurer; Trustees Eva Tiscareno,Rose Aiello and Frank Ostertag; Parlimentarian Nita Esposito and Elaine Null; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervi- sors hereby proclaims the week of May 24-May 30,1992,as"Pittsburg Historical Society"in recognition of the outstanding and unselfish efforts of past and present Society members who have worked so diligently to preserve the city's history and encourages citizens to be involved in these efforts. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 19th Day of May, 1992. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an Order entered on the minutes of the said Board of Supervisors of the date aforesaid.
