HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05191992 - 1.15 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Declaring May 27, 1992, as DICK TAYLOR DAY ) RESOLUTION NO. 92/ 323 in Contra Costa County ) Dick Taylor, Principal of Pleasant Hill Elementary School, is retiring; and we wish to take this opportunity to honor him for his many, many contributions to the students, the school, the teachers, and the parents. Dick is a compassionate, caring man who always has the time to listen to the ideas of others. Considering he is always on the run, doing everything from finding dollars to enhance the school' s programs to being a diplomat between the teachers and parents to fixing bookshelves to reading the kindergartners stories--he is a man of many diverse talents--this is not an easy feat. However, he is always available with a non-judgmental ear and is known to be very supportive and flexible no matter how unusual the idea. Dick has been instrumental in helping to establish recycling programs. With his support, the "Green Team" was formed and now recycles paper products and plastic trays at the school. The outdoor education program is a favorite of Dick' s, along with the 5th grade trip to Mt. Diablo. He is a strong believer in exercise and has used PTA monies to implement a wonderful physical education class by hiring outside professionals to teach the students skill development. Dick' s energy, enthusiasm, and creativity will.be sorely missed at Pleasant Hill, Elementary School. However, the contributions he as made will always be remembered.
