HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05121992 - 1.16 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 92/314 Commending Mark Greenwood on his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout WHEREAS,Mark Greenwood has been a member of the Boy Scouts of America since 1984, participating in Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts,Webelos, and is currently a member.of Boy Scout Troop No. 366,sponsored by St.Agnes Catholic Church; and WHEREAS,in accordance with the Boy Scout program,Mark has become involved in a wide spectrum of activities,including citizenship,religion,the arts and sports; and WHEREAS,Mark has shown his responsibility as a citizen in several ways,including being named the 1991 Outstanding Student at El Dorado Intermediate School; earning membership in the California Scholastic Federation for the past 3 years; maintaining a 4.0 grade point average for.the past 3 years; and participating as a teachers aide in the Mt.Diablo School District Water Environmental Program by accompanying teachers and elementary classes aboard the Crago to acquaint students with water science on the Delta; and WHEREAS,Mark participated with the St.Agnes Youth Group and members of other church,groups in spending Spring Break in Mexico building 3 houses for an impoverished community; and WHEREAS,Mark shows his love of music as a volunteer Teachers Aide for the El Dorado Intermediate School music program every morning before beginning his classes as a freshman at Concord High; as well as by playing in the Concord High Marching Band and the Rally Band; and Marks scouting activities include membership in the Wolfboro Pio- neers and Order of the Arrow; as well as being Troop Patrol Leader and Chaplains Aide; and WHEREAS,for his Eagle Project Mark organized and supervised 14 members of his and other troops, including adult leaders,in building and installing bookshelves and cabinets in the Family Wellness Center in Concord; NOW,TBEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors commends Mark Greenwood on his school and community involvement leading to his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout at age 14. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 12th day of May, 1992.
