SUBJECT:
In the Matter of Amending )
Resolutions No. 92/106, 92/173 ) Resolution No. 92/ 213
and 92/191 re VDT & WP Buyout )
The Board has adopted Resolutions 92/106, 92/173 and 92/191 which approved side
letters with AFSCME Local 2700, Contra Costa County Employees Association Local
No. One, and AFSCME Local 512 respectively regarding economic terms and
conditions for 1991-1993. As part of those side letters, agreement was reached to
eliminate VDT and word processing differentials in return for adding $50 to the
.salary ranges of certain job classes where employees received either differential.
In order that the flat $50 adjustment be compatible with steps in the basic salary
schedule which are in a percentage relationship, the County and the unions have
stipulated that (1) the increase will be keyed to the salary range midpoint and (2)
that those employees who are at salary steps below the midpoint on April 1, 1992 be
awarded a one-time-only reconciliation on either April 10, 1992 or May 10, 1992 of an
amount equal to the difference between current step(s) and $50 multiplied by
average time to achieve the midpoint step.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
RESOLVES THAT effective April 1, 1992 Resolutions 92/106, 92/173 and 92/191 are
amended to conform to the foregoing and the Auditor-Controller is authorized to
make necessary reconciliations as described therein. By this action, the Board
further authorizes application of this methodology to identical VDT and word
processing buyouts which may be implemented with management and unrepresented
employees and other recognized employee organizations.
I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of
an action taken and entered on the minutes of the
Board of Supervisors on the date shown. p Q
