In the Matter Requesting )
that the County Board of )
Supervisors Support ) Resolution No. 92/252
Continued Funding for )
the 30 2 Line )
Whereas, the Martinez Link is the only direct transit link
between West County and the 'services and facilities located in
Martinez; and
Whereas,, the 30 Z line': currently provides a much needed
service in transporting elderly, disabled and persons ' without
private vehicles to destinations such as Merritthew Memorial
Hospital, the oourts, juvenile ,facilities, jail, and other county
offices for a wide variety of . services; and
Whereas, other forms of public transportation such as BART via
Oakland, take in excess .of four times the amount of travel time and
are more expensive than the direct 30 Z route; and
Whereas, the 30 Z line is an invaluable service to numerous
residents of Contra Costa County but has never had a permanent and
stable funding source;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE' IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY that they recommend that the Contra 'Costa
Transportation Authority provide $144,000 in Measure C funds to the
Martinez Link; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED' that AC Transit and BART provide
$35,000 each and the County Co} nection and WestCAT provide $17,500
each in order to ensure.
